Semi-detached house, Port-Louis
Holiday home 1-6 3 1Description holiday home
Semi-detached house renovated with great attention to detail! It is located in a quiet residential area of the citadel town, just 600 m from a small swimming beach. The bright layout and maritime decoration create a holiday atmosphere and make you forget everyday life. Enjoy the sun on the two terraces which, depending on the position of the sun and the time of day, are ideal for relaxing. From the small bathing beach on the harbor of Lorient, a beautiful walk leads to the impressive citadel which seems to defy the sea. A small portal passes through the walls of the fortress and leads directly to the fantastic Grands Sables beach.
It was in Port-Louis that the Compagnie des Indes was founded a long time ago, which then mainly imported spices, fabrics and porcelain from India to present-day Europe. The citadel museum and some houses particularly beautiful in the center of Port-Louis bear witness to this rich past. Today, tourism, sailing and fishing punctuate the life of this small town.
Activities nearby: From almost every viewpoint in Port-Louis, you have a beautiful view of the port city of Lorient opposite. With the small passenger ferry, you will easily reach the "Cité de la Mer" animated, dedicated to the eminent navigator Eric Taberly. The modern museum offers a good overview of modern navigation and the sport of sailing with numerous interactive stations and games. An additional highlight for young and old: the guided tour of a submarine (by reservation). A day trip to the island of Groix, located opposite, is also not to be missed.
Other attractive destinations in the nearby surroundings: the small Breton town of Auray with its picturesque port of Saint Goustan, the regional capital Vannes or the lively seaside resort of Carnac, also known for its impressive menhirs and dolmens.
